"Give Your Style a Touch of Drama With Wide Belts"

Wide belts keep reappearing every season - and in different designs. But you don't mind, right? We love 'em!

A wide belt can accentuate your waist, narrow it, disguise the flab, enhance your curves (it's not a bad thing!) and add a finishing touch to a loose-fitted shirt, cardigan or dress.

It gives you pretty much of the good stuff for looking trendy and gorgeous!

Tip: For comfort, choose a stretchy, soft material. A hard patent belt will only tug your skin

Chic Ideas On How to Wear a Wide Belt

Minikiss icon Below your bust: A pretty dramatic corset belt-look. You want to make sure you keep the rest simple.

This will draw attention to your upper part, adding more width. It can also push up small breasts ;-)

Minikiss icon Natural waistline: This is the most ideal area to place it for most shapes. It defines and slims down your mid-section. Placing it on the bust or waist area will create the appearance of having longer legs and a long, clean line which gives a very flattering look.

Note: If you have a short torso, make sure the color of the belt blend in with the top you're wearing it with. In this way you'll avoid the contrast that only chops up your waist.

If you have a proportional body shape with a defined waist (usually an hourglass), accentuate that with a wide belt worn around the narrowest part of your waist.

If you want to disguise extra flab (and who doesn't once a month?) or a thick or round waist, pick plain elastic wide belts in solid, dark colors like black, dark brown, dark navy blue and charcoal grey. Elastic belts are great at holding in the extra weight. Avoid bold deatils such as contrasting belt buckles and other nick nacks.

Minikiss icon Around your hips: Great if you want to create curves or accentuate your hips.

You might want to choose a wide belt in soft, stretchy material - either loosely or snugly. This will give you extra curves without sacrificing comfort.

Tip: If you have short legs then this is not the ideal placement because it automatically shorten them :(

Minikiss icon With a basic top: Add a focal point to a basic top. It looks super-stylish with an embellished wide belt like woven, canvas stretch, studded, clasp buckle, double buckle or any other unique-looking buckles.

You can also use a simple, solid colored wide belt to a loose-fitted tunic top.

Minikiss icon With a shirt: Transform a sophisticated dress shirt or shirt dress into a trendy outfit with something unexpected.

Minikiss icon With a dress: For a shapeless vintage dress, add a wide belt around the waist to create a flattering and up-to-date shape.

It also looks fab on a long tunic or turtleneck dress.

Minikiss icon With a cardigan: I personally love this cool layering look. Try it with an open blazer or vest as well!

Tip: Wear it snugly, not too tight around the waist -- pulling in the sweater or jacket too tight will create a bulge around your mid-section. It will only make you look pregnant.

Minikiss icon With a scarf: This is a very trendy look. Wear a plain tee with a big shawl/or scarf. Let the scarf hang loose on each side of your chest and wrap a wide belt to keep it under control.
