The Diamond-shaped face has some things in common with a Heart Face Shape and that is the wide cheekbones and a chin that is usually narrow and pointy. So they both share the same styling strategies that I’m about to talk about on this page.

How Do You Know If Your Face Shape is a Diamond?

Your face shape appears chiseled because of your narrow forehead that tapers at the top, narrow chin along with slightly pointy cheekbones.

Here are the typical characteristics of a Diamond face shape:

Your cheekbones are the widest part of your face and are often high and pointed
Your forehead is narrower than your cheekbones and is approximately at the same width as your jawline and chin
Your forehead may be wide but it tapers at the hairline
The chin is usually narrow and pointy
You may have a slightly fleshy or wide jawline, but it is still narrower than your cheek area
Your face is slightly longer than it is wide

If you have wide cheekbones and tapered forehead and jawline then you most likely have a Diamond face shape. However, if your forehead and hairline are wider than your cheeks and lower half, then you're a Heart face shape.

Be Open to a Secondary (or even a third) Face Shape

You may not be an exact Diamond so you probably have a secondary facial shape. It depends on your features. If you pay attention to the proportions and bone structure of your face, you'll know what you need to work on to visually widening your forehead/hairline and chin area.

But if you have a wide face (like for example Linda Evangelista and Audrey Tautou who have a shorter forehead and broader cheekbones), your focus should be on slimming your overall face shape and follow the guidelines for Round Face Shape. Your ideal jewelry shapes are the ones that add width to your jawline - narrower on top and wider at the bottom such as tear, pear and triangle motifs. Ovals work too by smoothing out your defined face shape.
