"Your Dominant Characteristic in the
Seasonal Color Analysis - Neutral & Muted"
If your dominant characteristic is Soft and Muted then you have the most neutral coloring in the seasonal color analysis because of the mixed warm and cool undertones that are present in your hair, eyes and skin tone.
A classic example of a soft celeb is Jennifer Aniston. She has mousy hair color and blue eyes, and a neutral skin tone that looks both warm and cool. Many mixed women of color with lighter eyes and/or skin tone fall within this group. A Soft is more 'diffused' in coloring, a complete contrast from a Clear which you can see below.
Here is an example of a Soft-muted (Jennifer Aniston) and a Clear (Liv Tyler):
Typical Characteristics of a Soft Coloring
These are your dominant characteristics that set you apart from the rest in the seasonal color analysis:
Hair color is often described as mousy - warm and cool - and often without any natural highlights. An exception would be if you have ashy light blonde hair but brown eyes which give your overall coloring a cool and warm look.
Eye color is typically gray-green, gray-blue, hazel, brown or blue.
Skin tone appears neutral, a little bit of warm and cool.
Your Best Colors
You look your best in monochromatic and neutral color combinations – that's because your coloring doesn't need a lot of color. Too vivid and too-deep colors will 'tip over' your look.
If you're more on the warm side, you'll be able to pull off many of Autumn colors such as purples and greens. However since your coloring is generally neutral you can pull off a wide range of colors without looking off.
Are you Warm or Cool?
To determine if you're a Soft Autumn or Soft Summer, you need to figure out if you suit warm or cool colors best. This can tell you what type of soft-muted colors - warm or cool look best on you.
Here is an example of a Warm (Nicole Richie) and Cool (Sarah Jessica Parker) Soft-Muted:
Do you look best in:
Soft, warm colors = Autumn
|Soft, cool colors = Summer
The Color Palettes
Soft Autumn and Soft Summer
From Left: Mahogany, brown, medium grey, camel, khaki, grey, light peach, deep rose, light coral, dusty pink, coral, terracotta, buttermilk, mint, emerald turquoise, turquoise, jade, sea green, evergreen, purple, dark purple, aubergine.
Although you're the lightest in the Autumn coloring group you'll be able to sport many of the rich colors such as plums and greens, especially if you dye your hair darker and/or tan. Your colors are warmer than a Soft Summer's which enhance your rich look. Some of your best neutrals are cream, ivory, browns and khaki.
Examples of celebs who are Soft Autumn: Gisele Bündchen, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, Nicole Richie, Drew Barrymore
See how cooler and delicate the Soft summer colors are compared to Soft Autumn colors? However both of them are muted, not clear. It's also very common to flow between both palattes.
Always take the Gold or Silver test to be sure.
From Left: Slate grey, grey, light desert sand, taupe, mauve, deep rose, red-violet, raspberry, baby pink, deep mauve, burgundy,
light lemon yellow, light green, turquoise, jade, emerald green, spruce, navy, periwinkle, lavender, dusty purple, blue teal.
Some of your best colors are quite neutral (mix of warm and cool, deep and light) but you look fab in colors that are diffused with grey, making them look soft and cool. Soft greens are some of your fabulous colors as they bring out the sparkle in your light eyes.
You don't need a lot of color. Take Jennifer Aniston as an example, she looks divine in soft, neutral colors and monochromatic combos. Splashy colors look too much. Light grey, taupe, off-white and soft white are some of your best neutrals.
Examples of Soft Summer celebs: Jennifer Aniston, Rihanna, Sarah Jessica Parker, Denise Vasi
