Known as hippie or gypsy skirts, boho skirts are either rich in color or prints with flared or tiered cut. They're great to wear when you want to wear a long skirt without looking dressed up.

Also, typical boho pants are harem pants and gaucho pants and give you lots of comfy space around your crotch, butt and thighs.

The art to selecting the right skirt is to find one that is fitted around your hips to avoid the sloppy beggar look. If you lack hips, a boho skirt or pants will add more volume around that area, or if you have curves, it will disguise your hips and thighs. However, if you're petite (short) and/or skinny avoid wide flared skirt as they'll drown your figure.

The one thing you should be worried about is the length of the skirt and pants. Basically, anything around knee length is universally flattering. Anything below that is a bit risky because it might shorten your height. Long skirts look good on most tall women. But if you're short or have short/stubby legs you need to opt for a skirt that falls on the thinnest part of your ankle because it skims over the widest part of your legs , making you look leaner.

To balance out the voluminous look of these two pieces, add a simple tank tee and top it off with a pair of gorgeous oversized earrings. Imagine wearing a long, flowy tiered skirt with a sleeveless white or black tank top and a pair of oversized sunglasses... It's a pretty yummy Nicole Richie outfit, for sure!

Tip: Avoid loose tunics and kaftans with a boho skirt as they'll drag down your body frame even more.
