How to Buy a Womens Coat that Fits

Make you first coat purchase a neutral one
Secure classic coats in a neutral colors such as black, brown, cream as they'll blend well
with all of your outfit combinations. Like for example: Plaid print screams for attention and requires you to wear simple clothes to avoid overdoing the look.
However plain designs acts as neutral that go with everything.
Look for quality fabric
Make sure the coat is made of 100% wool for extra durability so
that you can wear it for years to come. Silk and cashmere mix is acceptable as well. The great thing about wool is that
compared to other fabrics it works as an insulator, keeping you warm at all times. The downside is that if it gets really wet then it
will take a long time to dry. So if you live in a wet climate then you should look for water-resistant coats.
Tip: Think twice when buying coats that contains Acrylic (fake wool). They're soft but the downside is that they burn easily due to lack of fiber content.
Like if you get a cigarette dropped on it it'll ignite the fabric which will burn rapidly unless extinguished! A lot of "fake" garments and accessories
such as replica UGG boots are made of Acrylic
because they're cheaper to make. I know that the fabric is eco-friendly but it's also best to focus on your safety.
Go for knee and thigh length
You might have heard this before but I'm saying it again. Knee to thigh lengh coats
are versatile and look good on all body shapes. Avoid letting the hem hit your calves as it automatically shortens your frame and make your legs look
stubby (not in a good way). A must-follow for petites, plus size and if you have thick legs!
Pick something that flatters and balances out your body shape
Here are some basic guidelines on how it works:
- Apple and inverted triangle
body shape (heavy or wide upper body) look
good in A-line coats or anything that flares out the hemline. Stay away from heavy details at the top to avoid looking heavier like for example double-breast with contrasting buttons.
- Pear (body shape with wide hips and butt) look best in coats that are details-rich on top
to destract the eye from your curves. Think wide collars and shoulder flaps.
- Rectangle body shape (litte waist definition) look best in coats that flare at the bottom and
have details on top to add dimensions to your straight frame.
- Hourglass body shape is quite an ideal and proportional figure.
I would personally define your womanly waist with a belted coat. If you're not too happy about your curves then you can never go wrong with a black A-line coat.
The extra flare automatically skim over the hips.
After securing a couple of basic yet timeless coats, you're free to choose other designs that tickle your taste and style!

Top 5 Popular and Classic Womens Winter Coats
High Collar
The first of my top 5 womens winter coats is the high collared style.
It's a stylish yet timeless quick-fix and a lifesaver during winter months. You're up and running in the morning because you don't need a
scarf with a high collar coat. It saves you a lot of time!
Tip:
If you live in an area where it's very cold or windy (like Northern America, Europe, Russia etc.)
then make sure you get your hands on two-three high-collar coats!
Hooded Wool Coat
If you live in climate where the weather gets pretty harsh then advise you to pick a coat with a hood for extra protection.
Pea Coats
A pea coat is shorter than most womens winter coats and are slightly boxy in their shape.
Pea coats are cute! They blends well with most occasions and outfits. You can wear it to work at 8am and go straight to a family gathering at 8pm. How great is that!
Womens Trench Coats
If you love a waist cinching-look, a belted wool coat is a must!
It resembles a trench coat but it's made of wool and more suited for cold winters.
A belted high or thigh long coat is a classic that'll never go out of style. Use it to school, work, party, family gathering, you name it!
Tip:
Go for neutral colors like black, khaki or brown, or even red for a splash of color.
You also have the option to choose between different designs, like a double-breasted (trench coats, military or pea coat),
wrap or high collar style The choice is yours!
Winter Parkas
The last of my top 5 womens winter coats is the parkas.
If you want something super-warm and sporty-looking then a winter parkas is a good option. However I would stay away from really
puffed up parkas as they make us look like marshmallows. Make sure that you can cinch it in at the waist (like for example a belt) for a feminine silhouette
and modern look.
Tip: For variety and changing climate, look for winter parkas with detachable hood and fur trim.
