With me, I prefer wearing a white shirt unbuttoned on top of a tailored dress or with my denim shorts, sprinkled with beaded jewelry to spruce it up and tone down on the preppy vibe it usually gives.

Now a basic dress shirt might sound boring, but it's all in how you combine it.

White dress shirts are versatile enough to be customized in a way you like and prefer. You can also find different versions of the white shirt -- with feminine details such as pleating, stripes, bibs and ruffles.

You can also transform the whole look with accessories like scarves, bracelets, necklaces and bracelets. Not to mention, cardigans, vests, jeans, skirts and shoes.

Tip: If you have a heavy upper part (big bust or maybe a round or wide torso), a white shirt will only emphasize that. So I recommend you to top it off with a dark solid colored cardigan or vest to slim it down. A white shirt with black buttons or vertical stripes will also make your torso leaner. Make sure that you also choose a shirt that fits you perfectly (avoid anything boxy, it'll make you look bigger) -- skimming your figure in a flattering way.
