V-neck Sweaters & Tops
Take Inches Off Your Body with a V-neck
There's no doubt that V-neck sweaters and tops are some of the most flattering garments a woman can wear. The V-shaped neckline helps draw the eye up and down - making you look taller and thinner!

Scoopnecks are nice too, but a V-neckline is better because it highlights and flatters your body shape - making your neck and face shape leaner, and your torso elegant and sexy. V-necks are simply chic!
What a V-neck does:
- Slims down your body's upper half - awesome if you have a heavy upper part/short waist/thick waist/etc. And it also makes your torso look longer (a huge feat if you're short-waisted)
- Exposes your feminine and beautiful décolletage
(part between your neck and bust line) without looking tacky. If the neckline is too low, simple add a camisole underneath it
- Flatters your chest - fab if you have a great pair of girls :)
- Flatters your face shape - especially if you have a round/wide face. But it helps minimize double chin and a chubby jawline
- Elongates your neck - deep V-neck does wonders

How to Buy V-neck T-Shirts and Tops
Select versatile colors
The first thing you need to do when building your wardrobe, is to buy the V-neck tops in solid, neutral colors such as black, white/cream, brown and gray. They're the foundation in your closet and blend in with all of your outfits.
And then continue building it from there with other colors from your personal color palette. For example if you're a Winter - look for V-neck garments in purple, true reds, dark navy, etc.
Regular or low-cut?
If you have a short torso, I recommend the low (sometimes called 'Deep') V-neck because it can really slim it down by showing more skin. I thin it looks elegant. Low-cut tops (not the super-tacky ones) display a chest without looking tarty. If it's too low you can wear a slim camisole underneath it.

Regular v-necks are pretty universal and work with all body shapes - and are a good option for gals who need to dress conservatively. They're also ideal if you have a large chest - because the neckline should end just above the cleavage to avoid drawing too much to it.
A V-neck is ideal for wide and round face shapes
If your jawline or chin is wide a V-neck can help elongate these areas and make your face shape look slimmer. The chin gets pointier and double chin minimizes.
But if you have Triangular, Heart or Diamond face shape, a V-neck will emphasize your pointy chin that naturally
comes with your face shape. You can either wear a v-neck to emphasize the shape of your facial shape or switch to a scoop neck. However there are other styling tricks that can make a V-neck work for you (see links).
