Sweater Dress"Update Your Winter Wardrobe with this Cute and Popular Dress Style"The thing I love about sweater dresses is that they're so flippin' cute! I have to admit that I often can't stop looking at women who wear these trendy long sweaters. It's a gorgeous look.

Like for example if your bottom is fuller compared to your upper half then you should go for dresses with lots of details on top (however you can also fix it by adding a pair of sassy chandelier earrings or/and putting on some red lipstick). The key point is to balance out your body shape, leaving no part heavier than the rest.
Tip: The best sweater dress styles that make you look taller and leaner are the ones with details that make the eye go up and down, instead of left to right.
So invest in cowlnecks and v-necks.
The right length.
Thigh length is an ideal hem. You won't find many knee length sweater dresses but if you do then avoid them if you're petite (5'4 or below) or a plus size because they can swamp you up and look shorter and wider. Stick to anything above your knee.
Print or no print?

Tip: If you want to down-play your height or
just want to add a little curves, then you're more free to experiment with rounder and wider prints as well as necklines.
Choose basic colors.
If you want something you can wear with anything then secure a couple of basics such as black, dark brown and cream/white. They go with everything and you can create different outfits with them.
Office work outfit.
Create a monochromatic outfit with black tights, black high heel pumps or boots and add a little twist with a nice leather skinny belt around waist. If your work setting is more on the formal side then make sure the fabric is thin and not chunky for a sleek and appropriate look. Also wear it to casual cocktail evenings. Just make sure you add a couple of sparkly jewelry and a pair of sky-high pumps for a glamorous ensemble.
Party outfit.
Cotton-fabric mini dress with slouchy neck or sleeves is nice pick to wear for parties. I would pair it with sexy shiny liquid leggings or lace tights and gladiator shoes with heels. Or if you dare, you can go bare!
Everyday outfit.
All styles work here. I personally like the ones with a collar shawl and ribbed knit texture. Of course, if you want to expand your style envelope, you could try a striped dress (just make sure you have the figure to wear. Most petites and plus size womens look frumpy in it). Avoid looking boxy in a sweater dress by wrapping a wide or skinny belt around the middle for more definition to your body. It looks really cozy with boots and sexy with gladiator shoes with heels.
Another thing you should have in mind is how to pick the right bottom with the dress. Dark blue, black and dark brown leggings and tights are perfect and create the ideal look. Sheer nude or black look fantastic with a formal sweater dress. You can also go bare if the weather allows it. However, if you have a full or short figure or have short legs you might want to avoid wearing a light colored sweater and a dark colored bottom, and vice versa, because the light-dark contrast cuts you in half and make you look even shorter and wider!
Tip: Wearing a plain sweater dress? Then go crazy on the tights with different textures and patterns, like for example
black wet look leggings, striped, polkadotted or bright-colored tights, knee high socks etc. Have fun!
If the dress is very short then it works more like a tunic top, so pair it with either skinny/straight jeans or leggings.
Note: I personally find the selection of sweater dresses at AmiClubwear quite good and varied, but you have to skim through many outrageously sexy clothes to find the perfect one!
