Black Ruffle Dress |
Appear less frilly and create a super-chic outfit by mixing ruffles with modern, laidback pieces like for example a pair of simple denim shorts and
gladiator sandals.
Ruffles can look good on anyone as long as you create the right balance.
If your bottom is bigger than your upper half you'll benefit more from ruffle tops compared to
apple shapes (big/wide bust or torso) because it fills out
your figure, making it look like a proportional hourglass body shape. Remember to
determine your body shape before trying out this trend.
Opt for fluid (long and lean) ruffles if you don't like the frilly-girl look. It looks more sleek and elegant.
Sheer Abstract Print Tunic |
For looking modest and sophisticated make sure to add a seamless camisole non-sheer top under it
To achieve a stylish and school/office friendly look, layer it with a basic camisole or tank under it, and top it off with a cardigan
Create an ultra-trendy and bold look by wearing a bright colored top or bra underneath a simple sheer top tunic.
For a boho look, combine a sheer tunic blouse with print with a tank top, denim shorts and a straw panama hat á la Nicole Richie
Anna Paquin One Shoulder Dress |
If you're hesitant to try out this trend start with a simple black sheath dress - it can be worn subtly with a blazer or a nice cardigan
One shoulders work like strapless tops, which means that it won't look appropriate for office work and conservative events
Consider investing in a backless or strapless bra. If you're aiming for a summery, flowy-looking late afternoon look, you might want to go braless and opt
for nipple tape instead
To look casual in one shoulder tops and dresses, balance out the sexy look with other trendy pieces like a pair of jeans, long beaded necklace, flat sandals and a nice leather cross-body bag purse.
Coral Layer Necklace | Turquoise Gold Bangle Bracelet |
Pick the right shade of turquoise by determining the undertone of your skin. Springs and Autumns tend to look better in green turquoise
because of the warm greenish tone that compliment peachy/golden skintones, while Summers and Winters look spectacular in blue-ish turquoise because
of the blue tone that looks fantastic on cool complexions.
If your style is classy and sophisticated start with small turquoise or coral accents such as beaded necklace, pendant, bracelets and earrings
Experiment with different nuances of turquoise and coral. I personally think coral red looks too much so I always choose softer pinkish corals for a more subtle look.
Coral looks best on warm-toned skin (Spring and Autumn) so if you're cool-skinned (Summer or Winter) wear it as a bracelet or purse instead.
Wear turquoise and coral in an unpredictable way. Mix and match different colors.
Ex. Turquoise and purple looks amazing together.
Lauren Jeans Distrssed Plus Size |
Pick the right shape of distressed shreds. What I personally don't like about distressed jeans is how the shreds tend to make you look 10 feet wider.
I tried a pair of horizontally shredded boyfriend shorts at Zara's when I was vacationing in Spain and noticed the extra pounds that were instantly added
to my hips. Don't get me wrong, curves are hawt, but I'm petite and I looked so much shorter and stubbier in those shorts.
Anyway, I purchase a pair of boyfriend jeans with vertical shreds and was delighted by the sight - slimmer legs and a chic look.
Mix distressed jeans with something completely opposite, like for example a classy blazer or a ruffle blouse - it creates a chic unpredictable outfit mix.
