This is part 2 of the Spring Fashion Trends 2010-report. Let's start with the top 5 must haves for spring and summer 2010:

Spring Fashion Trends 2010: 1. Floral Print

Nothing evokes the feeling of summer than florals. They're fun, flirty and cheerful. Floral patterns have been dominating the spring & summer 2010 runways. Fashion designers have been going back to the basics and shown their understanding to the women who want to accentuate their femininity and girly side.

It doesn't necessarily mean that you should look over-the-top romantic this season with dainty, pastel floral. You can carefully start with a floral scarf or bag, or a pair of floral lace tights or even cuter, a pair of floral print sunglasses :-) The floral trend includes also bright and juicy subtle abstract Saint Tropez and exotic tribal patterns.

How to wear floral:

Mini notebook icon Floral should be balanced with basic and classic pieces like khaki pants, a solid colored belt wrapped around the waist, boyfriend blazer, etc. This creates an ultra-trendy but flirty look that is gonna rock this spring!

Mini notebook icon If you're short (5'4 or shorter) large prints will overwhelm your height so it's better if you choose smaller prints, and medium sized if you're curvy/plus size petite. Taller women can handle bigger prints but should go easy on the size if they're very skinny.

Spring Fashion Trends 2010: 2. The Color Nude

Make room for the color nude. Goodbye black and gray. It's spring/summer 2010's top neutral, and ranges from tan, khaki, cream, stone to beige. This is another huge trend for spring, however I do think that we need to proceed in caution when adding this color to our wardrobe.

Nude which is similar to a pastel brown tends to make you look washed out. I myself look great in this color, but many people do not, and I'll explain why: It's all in what type of nude you choose.

If you have a warm complexion like me (either a Spring or Autumn) you'll look fabulous in warm/yellow-based nudes like cream, camel, caramel, and off-white. However if you have a cool complexion (for example a Summer) you'll look better in cool/bluish-based nudes like cocoa and sand. If you have very vivid coloring like really dark hair with either pinkish-bluish fair or dark skin (Winter) you'll have to keep it away from your face (ex. a pair of nude colored wedge sandals) because it's not strong enough to hold your coloring and makes you terribly washed out.

Note: If you have a darker but cool skin tone (Winter) you'll notice that you look better in nude than the other fair-skinned Winter women.

How to wear nude:

Mini notebook icon Wear a pair of nude semi-formal bottom (like for example chinos, Bermudas or dress pants) with something opposite from the dressy look like a floral bustier top or a casual white tee. And top it off with glamorous Jackie O sunglasses and maybe a nice denim jacket or blazer.

Mini notebook icon Instead of going monochromatic from top to toe throw in a bold color with the nude. Nude is a neutral so you can wear it with whatever color you like.

Spring Fashion Trends 2010: 3. Denim Shirts

90's are doing a comeback this spring/summer 2010. Edgy denim shirts are popping up everywhere in all sorts of styles, weights, washes and price points. The preppier, blue chambray is especially making a statement. I myself have a belted denim tunic I bought when vacationing in Spain which I adore because of the feminine waist cinching silhouette. Denim shirts may not strike a cord with you but I still added it as a spring essential. Why? Because when you get your head around how to wear it both with casual pieces and dressy pieces you'll discover how versatile it is.

How to wear a denim shirt:

Mini notebook icon Your first step would be to choose the right style. Do you want a regular shirt or a tunic style? Do want a shirt that is lightweight and soft, or heavier to wear as a jacket? What type of wash do you want?

Mini notebook icon When doing a double-take on the denim, avoid wearing the denim shirt with a bottom in the similar denim color. This looks very costume-like. Instead wear different denim washes in one outfit -- light wash shorts with medium to dark wash shirt, or the other way around.

Mini notebook icon An exception here is the denim dress, romper or jumper which you wear as a full-piece. However, remember to add in a good amount of additional textural interest to modernize your full-body denim outfit with for example ultra-chic sandals, boyfriend blazer, straw hat, scarf or some jewelry.

Mini notebook icon Leggings, dressy skirts, white denim and even dressy pants like chinos.

Spring Fashion Trends 2010: 4. Jumpsuits

The onesie is quite a controversial trend because of the strong fashion statement it portrays and the way it reminisces the 80s. I'm definitely all for rompers and jumpers because I love this fun look. It's a chic and fab alternative to mini dresses which can sometimes be too tacky for everyday wear. Plus, it's a great way to show off your sunkissed legs without having the fear of having a Britney moment ;-)

Rompers and jumpers can be very versatile for daytime lunching to a night on the town. Just slip it on and throw in some cute accessories like a long beaded necklace, a belt (if you want to emphasize your waist) and a pair of gladiator sandals.

Note: Jumpsuits are the ones with pants, and the rompers with shorts.

How to wear a onesie:

Mini notebook icon A jumper/romper looks amazing with either gladiator sandals or high heel shoes. I wouldn't go for ballet flats in risk of looking like an in-mate, however flat pumps can work very well with the suit if you want a more classy and simple look.

Mini notebook icon Tame down on the 80s vibe with a chic clutch purse and some jewelry. Chunky, statement necklaces and bracelets with a romper for a dramatic-trendy outfit, or a pendant necklace and pair of studded earrings if you like to look more refined. Mini notebook icon If you're a plus-size or have some extra weight around your waist and/or thighs/butt, I suggest wearing body shaper to smooth out the lumps and bumps. And definitely go for a supportive bra if you have big breasts.

Spring Fashion Trends 2010: 5. Chunky Gladiator Sandals

They're an edgier type of gladiator sandals that look way more chic'er than their flat and slim sisters. They are also more suitable for plus size women and for you who have thick ankles and muscular legs -- that's because the chunkier style compliments bigger dimensions compared to the stilletto version which looks like twigs on a curvy woman. And if you pick the ones with a thick heel you'll notice how much comfortable they are to walk in because you use less strength to keep your body balanced when walking in them.

How to wear chunky gladiator sandals:

Mini notebook icon If you're skinny or/and have very thin-built legs avoid super-chunky wide gladiator sandals with thick straps unless you can find ways to balance it out, with for example an eye-catching top.

Mini notebook icon Avoid ankle straps if you're petite and/or have short or muscular/stubby legs as it can visually cut your figure in two, making you look shorter and wider
