Old Seasonal Color Analysis ChartThe reason I curbed the previous seasonal color analysis chart was because it appeared very black-and-white and left many unique colorings out of the picture. Like for example people with an 'in-between-color' - neither light or dark (eg. Jennifer Aniston), and red-heads who always seemed to fall under the Autumn group even though it wasn't quite right.
The old seasonal analysis chart The old chart is good for those with 'typical' color combinations. You basically analyze your complexion by figuring out if it is mainly cool or warm, which eliminates half of the seasons. For example: If you're dominantly cool you can eliminate Spring and Autumn from the list (an exception is Deep Winters who overlap with Deep Autumn, and Clear Winters which overlaps with Clear Spring, which is clarified in the new seasonal analysis).
Needless to say, there are just too many exceptions that can't be explained in a single chart :-)
How the New Color Analysis WorksThe new seasonal color analysis is mostly based on your dominant characteristic and the quality of your coloring, and not your color combination. So basically, you need to figure out what stands out in your coloring.
For example: If you have very deep and dark hair, the best colors for you are usually rich and vivid which means you look best in DEEP colors. Wearing delicate and LIGHT colors such as baby pink are too weak on your DEEP coloring.
But please, don't let the 'off-limit colors' scare you. What's important is what you place close to your face. You can even wear a no-no color as a top as long as you top it off with one of your best colors. You can wear anything you want.
