How to Buy Jeans for Your Petite Body Frame

Start with measuring your inseam. You can do it yourself by measuring a pair that you fit you well. If you don't have any then you need to grab your measuring tape and get a friend or yourself to measure from just below your crotch to right below your ankle. Many petites have an inseam between 26 to 31 inches. If you have a longer inseam (which means you have long legs compared to your upper body) then you can buy regular inseam which is 31 to 32.

Tip:

Have in mind that if you're an average height (for example 5'5) but have short legs (see: vertical body shape) then you need to buy petite jeans.

Tips on Selecting Jeans for your Height:

If you want to look the leanest and longest possible, then your best jeans styles have a solid dark blue or black wash. It also helps to wear a pair of shoes that blend in with jeans (eg. black pumps with dark blue jeans).

Keep in mind that simple jeans are the way to go for your short stature as details tend to widen and shorten. However this is an exception if you have full or wide upper body (Inverted Triangle or Apple) with narrow hips - some washes and details around this area create curves and minimize your upper body. But some heel height is still needed :o)
