One shoulder dresses can instantly turn you into a Grecian knock-out! Although the single shoulder dress has been in fashion for several decades (thousands of years, if you really think about it!) it still manages to maintain its fresh and unexpected look.

Single-shoulder dresses aren't seasonal anymore - they're in style from fall to summer, and are quite popular during the party months from October through December. A simple jersey or lace dress with a one shoulder come to my mind when I think about the Holiday season. Or if you're attending a formal occasion and want something dramatic and ethereal then try a single shoulder long formal gown.

Then don't be afraid to go for solid-colored sheath dress first. You can always add chic accents such as a pair of chandelier earrings and nice clutch purse.

Don't interfere the neckline

The one shoulder is already a fashion statement in itself so avoid adding accessories that compete with your neckline! I don't even recommend wearing a necklace with it - instead, opt for earrings, bangle bracelets or a cocktail ring. A pair of trendy shoes is also chic.

Keep your neckline free and chic

Just to put an emphasis on the previous pointer - the key to looking chic in this type of dress is to keep the neckline sleek. So play up your decolletage and shoulders. Exfoliate and scrub the skin on this area - slather on moisturizing lotion.

And not least, wear a bandeau or strapless bra with it - a bra strap cheapens the look, yes, even the clear straps.

For a soft and romantic look

Go for gauzy fabrics (ex.chiffon) and pleated gathers. This is one of the most flattering fabrics for curvy gals.

Got a tan or deep coloring?

Then accentuate the exoticness with a bright colored single-shoulder dress such as red, blue and emerald green.
