Lace leggings and tights are definitely my favorite fashion hosiery because they add an exciting texture to your outfits. They allow you to do lace without looking overly feminine, or overly vintage. Simply put, they are lace with an edge, which I absolutely love :-)

Before we hit the stores and the outfit styling-section, let's take a look at some general tips that are crucial to looking fab in such frilly hosiery:

Like for example a multi colored dress will only battle with the tights and make your outfit look too much. So if you want to look chic and sleek, consider wearing skirts and dresses in solid colors.

.. is to pair the tights with tailored pieces (meaning crisp lines). Like for example a boyfriend blazer and black pencil skirt. You can easily pull off the lace tights-look at work by pairing them up with a basic black shift dress

If you think the lace print is already too much

Combine it with something masculine or casual to balance out the "feminine feel", such as long pullover sweaters or an oversized tee with denim shorts.

Select the right print size and shapes according to how your legs look. If you have wide legs then have in mind that lace may highlight that but you can offset the attention by choosing vertically long prints to slim them down (such as long floral patterns). If you want more

curves to your legs then pick the opposite with rounded and wide prints.

Tip: If you have so called "chicken legs" then go easy on very large prints as they can overwhelm your thin legs

If you're a petite or full figure size and want to look long and lean

Streamline your outfit with a black cardigan or top. Both of the black pieces will then "connect" and visually create a leaner and taller silhouette which is a nice thing because print tights tend to shorten and widen more body figures.
