How to Wear Bright Yellow for Spring Summer 2012

March 1, 2012: Bright yellow is once again on the top list of color trends this spring- and summer time. This classic SS hue is clear, bold and almost neon-like. And it'll surely beat any remains you may have from those winter blues!

A dress or skirt gives this loud Citron Yellow a chic and flirtier vibe - which I absolutely love! Imagine wearing it as a 50s inspired A-line skirt or a waist fitted sun dress. A more subtle way to wear bright yellow is to wear it as sandals or a jewelry piece, but keep in mind that it'll highlight the area you wear it on. So make sure it's good one :-)

Bright yellow is definitely a high-voltage power-color and looks best on a few colorings, mainly anyone with a Clear (obviously!) or Warm-Deep (think Autumn) coloring. If you have a Soft or a Cool coloring bright yellow might look off or overpower you if you wear it close to your face. You may want to wear subdued, paler yellows instead.

Medium to dark blue (eg. bold blue, navy blue, turquoise, etc.), lime green, leaf green, coral pink, orange

I'm not a neon-person because of neons' loud statement, so I usually stick to medium to dark yellow. A toned down shade of yellow is easier to mix and match - and can be worn with other colors without looking too much.
