April 25, 2012: Black lace hosiery can add the perfect amount of sexy chicness. Depending on what you decide to pair them with – they can be made romantic, sophisticated or super-trendy. But to avoid looking tacky you need to combine the hosiery with the right clothes.

Here are a few guidelines on how to play with lace tights for the office:
How to look chic & classy with Lace Tights
- Lace works best with simple and solid color combinations, especially neutrals such as black, browns and greens. This highlights the hosiery and make it your outfit’s focal point. It’s also more office work-appropriate
- Adding a pop color works fabulously (think a red shift dress) as well but I think it looks best as a solid like mentioned in the previous pointer. So if you want to look professional avoid pairing them with bold color-blocks and over-the-top prints.
- If you want to wear a subtle lace texture on your legs without stirring up too much attention at work – scout for soft, discreet lace prints such as one of these:

- Combine the black lace hosiery with classy shoes with minimal details such as ankle booties and pumps in matte leather or suede. The hosiery already screams sexy so keep your footwear simple. Patent leather is fine as long as the lace is subtle.
Now let’s take a closer look at a couple of ideas on how we can wear lace tights with class:
Office Outfit Ideas
A toned-down look
I would definitely go softer on the lace details and implement classy pieces in neutrals like for example a black pencil skirt and a white blouse or a dark blue shift dress.

A fun approach to working with basics is to vary the textures in your outfit. So if wearing plain from top to toe leaves you cold, experiment with a mix-media combo such as croc/snake handbag to go with your jersey dress and patent pumps.
Add a pop of color
If your work’s dress code allows it include a splash of color with one seasonal color like for example a red skirt, purple handbag, pastel green blouse, etc.

You can also attempt to do a subtle color-blocking by using low-key colors such as dark blue with a deep plum.
