The Wrapover Dress

I have just purchased a gorgeous short black wrapover dress with a plunge neckline (loose fit, silky) and have no idea what to team it with to complete the outfit!

I have shoulder length auburn hair, cuddly curvy size 10, 5'4". I would like to do really sexy if possible but I have no idea where to start!

The wrap dress is so nice! It looks casual yet sleek and sexy. I want one myself :-)

First of all, you made a great choice. Black compliment reddish hair, the v-neck and belt will flatter your shape and size, plus the length is perfect for your petite height!

The black dress works a a blank canvas so you should focus on adding hosiery, gorgeous, eye popping jewelry and killer shoes to create a sexy look.

I'm not sure what kind of occasion (casual? formal event? date with a guy? for work?) you want to dress up sexy for but whatever it is, these details will surely sexify your look:

Lace/sheer- or glossy pantyhose (yup, most guys can't resist women with shiny, flawless legs!)

Strappy shoes

High heel pumps and sandals

Leather boots

A long necklace that falls down to your cleavage and draws attention to this area

Showing off some cleavage is definitely sexy but make sure you add a bra tape to make the dress stay put to your bra. If you like keeping it a little modest a seamless black camisole will do.

Wear high heel gladiator shoes in an eye popping color (such as purple, red is good too) along with black sheer pantyhose and gold hoop earrings -- perfect for going out.. or just looking fab and trendy! For summer you can drop the hose and high heels and go for flat strappy gladiator sandals -- which is a much casual (yet sexy) outfit.

A very timeless look for formal occasions and even office work, consisting of sheer nude pantyhose, black patent pumps and long pearl necklace enticing the eye to your feminine decolletage (the chest).

Here's another party outift. I added lace tights and a pair of black strappy high heel sandals with small stud details. It's more of a cross-mix of sexy and rough.

This one is semi-casual. The black thigh high socks give a nice peek-a-boo effect along with brown knee high leather boots that give a more stylish take to your outfit.

I know that there is a lot of black involved here but it's know for its seductive and classy appeal ;-) plus dark colors elongate and slim down your figure. You can of course alter the outfits (go for another color in shoes, etc.) to fit your personal taste and style.

Alice, thanks for the great tips :-) wearing colorful tights is an excellent way to spruce up a black wrap dress - especially if you want to look trendy-chic and eclectic.

Cherubscherry, a camisole is also a must if you're not comfortable wearing a deep v neck. If you want to look very sexy with cleavage I suggest you add bra tape and place it on the rim of the bra cup attaching the neckline to it. In this way you can show a very deep cleavage without worrying about showing off your bra.

Also if you want to define your waist you could buy a body shaping seamless camisole that trims down your torso.

Hi! Thanks for the great comments. The dress is by Oasis, I think it is a past-season as I got it on eBay last week but another may appear!

A friend of mine is a fan of wrap dresses - she always wear them with thick colourful tights and a camisole underneath. And heels are a must of course. You could clash the colour of the shoes with the tights for a funky - chic look.
